MAY 18, 2023: This is such a special gig for me. Magnificent St Elvan’s church in Aberdare, Mid Glamorgan - now transformed into a first-rate arts centre and concert venue - is where my school used to join other schools for carol services back in the day. Pretty sure that members of the audience will include people I used to go to school with.

MARCH 23-27, 2023: Teaching another wonderful guitar retreat alongside the force of nature that is Stuart Marshall on the island of Tresco, part of the Scilly isles (about 15 mins off the coast of Cornwall’s Penzance by helicopter). Weather’s looking a bit blowy, but you never inow…a micro-climate gives rise to breathtaking sub-tropical gardens on the island.

JAN 22-29, 2023: Alvor, Portugal. Guitar Retreat in ine of the most beautiful villages on the Algarve. Plus a concert at the Dom Joao hotel and, very probably, another in the village itself. This retreat is sold out, but for more guitar-based holidays visit Guitar Retreats

SEPT 8, 2022: Over The Bridge folk club, Mountain Ash. Delighted to be back plaing in this beautiful renovated space. Chrissie and Steve Chandler run a lovely club.

FEB 19, 2022: After postponements due to lockdowns and non-Covid issues, it’s brilliant to finally share a stage with The Meadows, a superb band celebrating their beautiful Dreamless Days album. The Globe is a wonderful venue in historic Hay so here’s to a great Saturday night.

JANUARY/FEB 2022: Just back from Portugal and it’s off to stately manor Dumbleton Hall in the Cotswolds for the second guitar retreat of 2022. Of course, it may not be snowing but a light dusting would certainly look lovely. This three-night retreat starts on January 30 and is selling fast. For more guitar holidays visit the Guitar Retreats website.

JANUARY 2022: A new year and a very happy one it is! Off to Portugal’s Algarve to teach a guitar retreat with Stuart Marshall, one of Britain’s most charismatic teachers and a very fine player indeed. This is the view from our seafront hotel. The Atlantic might be a bit chilly at this time of year, but there’ll be plenty of winter sun. This retreat is fully booked but for more guitar-based holidays visit the Guitar Retreats website.

DECEMBER 1, 2021: Really looking forward to playing the Bath Acoustic Club. Lovely room, brilliant, attentive audience and very fine singers and players. Might even slip in an early Christmas song.

OCTOBER 1, 2021: Due to circumstances beyond The Meadows’ control, this concert sadly has to be postponed. The Meadows - and I - send love and apologies to all those looking forward to a great night. Watch for a new date soon.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2021: Proud to be playing Newport Folk Club’s grand reopening night with the great singer-songwriter Huw Williams (writer of Fairport Convention’s classic The Summer Before The War). It’s going to be a cracking night. More info at

Proud to be in the company of such excellent music. Huge thanks to Michael Kennedy and all at Welsh Connections for their unfailing and unstinting support.

MARCH 6, 2021: Privileged to be headlining this wonderful collection of songwriters from around the globe…all put together by the great folk musicologist Terry Helyar.

JANUARY, 2021: A wonderful new venture…small Zoom day-long guitar retreats. Plenty of time for individual and group tuition, and lots of guitar chat. Looks like being the first of many.
